I do not believe in cows milk as a beverage for my one year old, but since she has cut back nursing to am and pm with the occasionaly naptime nurse session, how do I make sure she gets enough healthy brain fats.
I do give
seseame and olive oil when cooking things occasionally
she will eat chunks of coconut oil raw
she drinks coconut milk everyday
she will sometimes eat avacado
I use organic unsalted butter on her toast for snacks sometimes
i haven tried nuts yet..what are good ones to start with?
I did purchase a dha supplement (just cod liver oil) but havent used it or talked to my dr about it yet.
she eats only tablefood (baby led solids) and we cook healhty whole foods so should i even worry..its just that at my dr appointment she was telling me i should give her whole vitamin d fortified milk regularly. I just nodded and smiled, i dont know why i didnt tell her i wasnt going to do it. she is great, i just wasnt in the mood i guess. i mean she was all about my home waterbirth, supports my choice to delay vax, and loves that still breastfeed and says nothing about my baby being in the 15% for weight. I should have just talked to her. next apt not for 5 months now.
