This is the Superstition Mountains. This mountain range can be found in the east valley in Apache Junction area. There are numerous trails and levels of trails on this mountain. Some know this area as The Lost Dutchman State Park. The most famous trails are Siphons Draw and Flatiron. Siphons Draw is about a 3 hour hike, moderate level. This is the most hiked trail in the park. Flatiron is the highest elevation in the mountain. This hike is adventerous and takes about 6 hours, not recommended to hike alone. There is a system of BLUE dots that you follow along these trails to find your way. This mountains elevation is over 5,000ft.

On New Years Day went hiking at Usery Mountain Regional Park.  It was beautiful and they have many trail to pick from.    We were only going to do the Pass Mountain Trail (7.4mi), hike about 1-2 hours and then turn around and come back... But we ended up on the Wind Cave Trail (1.5mi) which goes strait up the mountain, lol.  We got about a mile up and decided to come back down... not so easy with 12 lbs strapped to your chest. :)

We also recently went to Papago Park, which is right next to the Phoenix Zoo.  It is a small park, but a nice to walk around.
