Where would you live in the DFW area?

We are possibly moving to the area from Oregon and have NO idea about the DFW area at all!

We currently live in a small town (3000 people) and we love that part of it, and we are 15 minutes from a small metro.  Where would you think is the ideal place to live in the area, and why?

We live in McKinney, it's right next to Plano.
And so much to do, with little driving time.

We love it here, nice neighborhoods.
And good schools.

I live near Mesquite and I LOVE Mesquite!! its a smallish town but you drive a few exits down and you have tons of shopping areas!

I used to live in Oregon and its WAY different here! But i like it better.

We live in Murphy, which is east of Plano. I *love* it here. It's a cute, quiet town...Plano school districts..and close enough to plano (and surrounding areas) for anything we need or want to do.

I live in Richardson right now & they have great schools, but we are thinking about moving when our lease is up in Feb.    Sounds like we should check out west Plano.    We want to keep our son at Berkner High school so we need to look in areas that go there.

I  just moved to Plano Tx,  It is a nice place but i am having a hard time meeting new friends.

I dont drive here , i am  from a small town that has 1 store , 1 cafe,1 Post Office.  So i am having a hard time getting out there. If it does not bother you to drive in this i think you would like it. Bit i am about to go crazy in this house 24/7. I would love to go back to the big woods.   Its crazy , i can walk hours threw the woods , with the snakes, bears ,mountain lions, wild dogs and it does not bother me one bit. But i cant handel all the cars, lol

We live in Wylie, east of Plano, and love the area. Other small-ish towns in the area are Sachse and Murphy.
