In my effort to connect more moms in this group and to better accommodate you, I ask that you please respond to this post. I'm just wondering why is it that we have 94 members in this group and only a handful of us attend the play-dates? Since starting this group in February, I have only met 5 people from the group. I see many posts from moms wanting to get together, but when we post play-dates, no one responds. I understand some moms don't have vehicles and some can't afford to spend money to travel, but aside from those reasons, what is holding you back from attending our play-dates? I also want everyone to know that if you are located too far to attend some of our play-dates, you can always set up your own play-date for those in your area to attend.
Wow, I used the word play-dates a lot.
Thanks for the input and hopefully we can get more moms connected.

I agree. With the group spread over such a wide area, it's difficult to pack up the kids and travel 40 minutes for a playdate. Maybe having sub-groups based on geography would help? I'm in Flower Mound.

I think my part of it is that my little one isn't here yet and I live far away from all of you. For the most part the playdates are set up in North Dallas area, which I do know since I used to live there, but I can't necessarily drive out there often and I kinda feel like I'm the only one down here in my area, so it seems kinda pointless to try for a playdate closer to me when everyone else would have so far to go.
I would love to attend but as of right now my husband has the car since he just got a job and we are waiting for them to get him a company car. I am also working a lot now so any time I do have off I try to spend with kiddo and my hunny.
As soon as my husband gets the company car and I get some time off I will definitely be joining ya'll.
I just joined a couple of weeks ago, so I'm still trying to get to know the people on here & the area. We just moved to Rhome, TX (minutes from the TX Speedway) Aug. 2. I can talk a lot sometimes, but I am shy about actually meeting new people.
Also, right now we have two cars but only one is usable at the moment. We hope to have it good to go asap since we're right at our 30 day deadline to get TX plates.
I'm interested in meeting up, but I'd love to get to know more people on here first so I feel more comfortable by the time I have a vehicle to drive again.
This is why I encourage others to set up play-dates in their area. If we could get other people active in play-groups in their area, then maybe we could have one big group play-date on occasions. There are only 3 of us who ever take initiative to set up play-dates. I wish more people would do this. Play-dates can be held anywhere.

You know I think that you were one of the people who live really close to me, so if you would like a ride, I can definitely carpool with you. I have a minivan so there are plenty of seats. Just send me a pm if the next one is at a good time for you.
I know that I haven't been as involved as I would like lately, because of family issues and me starting college. But now that I've adjusted to my classes, I'm able to make playdates.
Well, I can say that the majority of the reason I have no been attending the playdates is because I joined this group 5 minutes ago... Literally... =0)
I would love to attend playdates with you ladies. I have a 7, 5 and soon to be 2 year old. All daughters.
I will say this up front... Mon-Thurs I am also caring for my bedridden grandmother from about 7am-3pm. I also do it on Sundays. My 5 year old has ADHD and has a weekly appointment with a counsellor and a monthy appointment with a psych.
Anyway, the reason I am saying these things now is because those are the things I know are going to happen regardless and who knows what else will happen that is not planned for so I will try to make playdates but please do not be upset if I don't show up or cancel last minute.
BTW, my name is Sandy, I am 25 and I live in a little chunk of Dallas County that was not graced with a city name somewhere between Mesquite and Kaufman. My mother-in-law lives in FT Worth so we are out in that area as frequently as our schedules allow.
Hope to get to know you ladies!
I like most of you joined this group to meet more moms and for my son to meet more kids. It seems like everytime there is a playdate something comes up at the last minute, or the days that they are scheduled we have something else planned. I will try to make some. I am hoping that we will be able to make the zoo trip.. I love the zoo.
