Hi!
My name is Anna and I am 44 years old. I have a 3 year old daughter. I was a teacher for 9 and 1/2 years in Texas. I taught Earth Science, Life Science, 9th grade Biology, and also taught kids with special needs ranging from Downs Syndrome to Oppositional Defiance Disorder. A wide range, huh?
I am most interested in teaching my daughter in a way that she really loves without her thinking she is actually learning something. I am am looking for basic skills to use with her. I mostly want to do things that we can both enjoy.
My daughter is extremely independent and always has been. This is my greatest challenge with her. She wont let me show her how to use items or help her in any kind of way. It drives me nuts! I never had a child who was this independent when I was teaching all those years! She gets frustrated easily, has trouble waiting her turn ( but who doesn't, really) but otherwise does extremely well alone or with other children. This child wont even let me help her with her food, she would rather struggle on her own to eat what she is served!
Well, ladies, its so nice to join this group and cant wait to get started on all the resources I have found with the ABC's!
I hope everyone has an awesome day!
