Let's do our best to come up with as many inspiring passages whether quran, sunnah, hadith, poems or phrases that encourage the wear of hijab. Inshallah this will help some of our new muslims to wear hijab and encourage our old school muslimahs to continue to carry the torch! Ok i will go first--this is soo cute:
Two Little Girls
Two little girls playing in the sun
one wore a scarf, the other wore none.
"Why do you wear a scarf?" asked the one without,
the other little girl said without a doubt
"Allah loves me to cover my hair
so that little boys won't stand and stare,
when I grow up what I really want to be
is a well dressed Muslim lady like my pretty Mummy."
Salam Alaykum
The hijab is Eemaan (Belief or Faith)
Allah (swt) did not address His words about the hijab except to the believing women, Al-Mo'minat. In many cases in the Qur'an Allah refers to the "the believing women". Aisha (RA), the wife of the prophet (pbuh), addressed some women from the tribe of Banu Tameem who came to visit her and had light clothes on them, they were improperly dressed: "If indeed you are believing women, then truly this is not the dress of the believing women, and if you are not believing women, then enjoy it."

Yes, it really is. I think it's one of the best visual blogs out there for sisters. Hmmm...maybe the only visual blog.

This poem was given to me by a sister who said that she literally carries copies of this poem with her at all times and will give it to people that ask about her hijab. It made a impact on me, so I thought I'd share. I hope you enjoy, inshallah!
You look at me and call me oppressed,
Simply because of the way I’m dressed.
You know me not for what’s inside,
You judge the clothing I wear with pride.
My body’s not for your eyes to hold,
You must speak to my mind, not my feminine mold.
I am an individual, I’m no man’s slave,
It’s Allah’s pleasure the I only crave.
I have a voice so I will be heard,
For in my heart I carry His Word:
“Oh ye women, wrap close your cloak,"
So I won’t be bothered by ignorant folk.
Man doesn’t tell me to dress this way,
It’s a law from God that I obey,
Oppressed is something I’m truly NOT,
For liberation is what I’ve got.
It was given to me many years ago,
With the right to prosper, the right to grow.
I can climb mountains or cross the seas,
Expand my mind in all degrees.
For God Himself gave us LIBERTY,
When he sent Islam,
To you and me!
