Today marks the start of Feeding Tube Awareness Week, Kedryn uses whats called a "G" Tube, its basically a one-way valve right into his stomach that helps us bypass his esoughagus because of his GERD (Gastointenstinal Reflux Disease) and helps us give him added nutrition because of his FTT(Failure To Thrive).

Kedryn is doing really well and may be getting his G Tube out really soon (yay!) but there are many children (and adults) who will have a feeding tube for the rest of their lives and without which they will die.
Take this opportunity to ask me anything about Kedryns Tube or medical conditions!

Thank you for coming here and sharing. It's great news his tube will be coming out soon Godwilling. Advocacy and empathy are two fundamental things needed in caring for our children and family members with special needs, it's great to see you are active in both for your son. Here in MuslimMoms you can find other moms with kids who have health issues, special needs and some others are in healthcare too. Islam promotes caring for others who have compromised skills in daily tasks and activiities. ofcourse that means with knowledge and compassion for our own children when they are challenged with their health as a priority. So your actions are commendable and appreciated in reaching out to us. Godwilling we will benefit from your experience. Thank you again!

I would just like to note that your son is adorable! I have dealt with feeding tubes on some level when I was an STNA. And thanks for posting this!

Assalamu ALykom, sister. May God protect your adorable child and give him health. My daughter was a preemie and she had a tube in her nose  for the first days of her life. But now she is an adorable healthy fourth grader, and Insha'Allah, you'll one day see your sweet son a handsome healthy and pious grown up man
