As Salam alayikum sisters. I'm asking this because I wore white jeans and a white long sleeve shirt with my purple and white scarf to the doctors office today. There's many Muslim sisters that go to the same office, which is nice because I have met many friends here. But today was different. I walked in and received all stares, and even one sister exchanged glances with her friend. I felt extremely uncomfortable. I'm a convert, so growing up when I seen Muslim women wear all black, I thought they looked sad or depressed. Now that I'm Muslim, dress modestly but I have wide variety of colors. We are lovely women who are happy being Muslim, alhamdiullah, so why all the depressing black? White is uplifting and looks clean and pure, but I don't see much or any Muslim women wearing white. My dh doesn't comment to much on my dress, as long as I'm modestly covered he doesn't care about the color or pattern. I can think of one time I wired all black, he asked if I was going to a funeral or something. He wasn't used to seeing me that way and he hated it. So I just wonder why do so many Muslim sisters wear only black? I mean we can still be modest wearing colors right? Or am I wrong?jazakallah kheir.
