There is a book called "Parenting in the West" by Dr. Ekrem Beshir that I really like. Dr. Beshir also has a book out with her husband but I don't recall the name. There is also a book by Tahera Kassamali that you can download for free from this website. http://www.al-islam.org/raising_children/. There are alot of other websites that offer free downloads of islamic books. Do a search and you will be directed to those. You can find others at http://www.al-islam.org/ available for download as well. Although this website seems to promote the Shite branch of Islam and I guess that depends whether you are shite or sunni. Also, Allah's World offers free downloads of books. http://www.allahsword.com/index.html THere are many others. Just do a search.
I have "The Prophet's Sayings on Rearing Children" by Mawlana Ikramullah Jan Qasmi that I think I bought from islamicbookstore.com.
go to ad-duha.org, there are resources you can buy or download for free.
Asalaamu Alaikum, Sister-
Masha'allah I am very happy to read this.
First, find a local mosque and get your three year old into classes then start your two year old in a year or two. They will teach them how to read and write arabic, the Quran with Tajweed and Tilawat, proper ways of Salaat and so on.
Books are okay...however, visualization is a much better and miuch reliable source. Here is a site for you to check out for books, dvds and more:http://www.onlineislamicstore.com/children.html.
