Alhumdulillah zaynebs hair has been shaved as part of the sunnah of our religion today jumuah 18/01/12!! Say mabrook please!!

Yes I do but we consider the hair they're born with unclean, it's filled with fetal stuff because it was on their head inside the womb. But that's not the main reason, the main reason is we shave the hair of the newborn and weigh it. Depending on its weight, you convert it into money and give that money to the poor and needy. It's a very big blessing to do this and way to celebrate the birth and blessing of a newborn by this practice where not only are you blessed, but you put blessings in the hands of others (money) in need.
