assalamu alaikum sisters, and greetings to all.
well, I've had a very stressful week, and still , have an entire stressful month to look forward to ( AAAHHHH
) so, today, I decided to relax for a few minutes, to scrub my heals, take a looooong shower, and drench myself in lotion and perfume... LOL..
I was going to share with you a new find I stumbled on. which is called "pedegg" .. I tell you, my heals have NEVER been so smooth.. I am guilty of walking barefoot all the time inside the house.. and that does not help.
but any way. it got me thinking.. what is it that helps you feel beautiful?
hijabi or not. .. I for one don't think that my hijab makes me ugly. or less beautiful. ( though it is a different kind of beauty and a different kind of satisfaction) .. but sometimes when I am exhausted, or look at myself in the mirror so tired and all , I get scared... LOL.. so every now and then, I decide to do even one little thing for myself. put a facial mask.. put make up
, lotions, or perfumes ( well, when I know I am not leaving the house that day)
so what is it that you do that makes you feel better about the way you look . or gives you that feminine boost.
mind you. I'm not talking about inner beauty.. that comes without saying. I don't know your faces.. but I can see your beauty of your souls in your words masha' Allah. (((HUG)))
I am talking about the more mundane, vain, and superficial kind
. you know.. the one that we sometimes love to care for LOL.. LOL..
so,, what's your secret? Do share.

For me...
It is very simple but it makes me feel so good.
I looooooove to take a hot shower and use Strawberry body butter from The Body Shop.
I've tried mango, peach, and a few others, but strawberry always does the trick for me. It makes me feel so soft.
I LOVE IT!!!!!! LOL!
p.s. where do you buy pedegg?

Well....when I do find time, I love to shower and blow dry my hair out and give me a style. I love to do the same as you...scrub my feet and lotion up from head to toe. Then I put makeup on. It makes me feel beautiful! My muslim friends used to tell me to do this and do that for my dh and he will love it ..... well..... WRONG!!! He doesn't care for makeup or anything too fancy. He is very plain and comes from a plain family. So I have found that I really need to do these things for MYSELF to make myself look better. I don't think I look too bad in my hijab but what woman doesn't love to wear makeup and have a nice style? I have gained weight over the past few years and doing all this makes me feel a little better. I never used to get my hair styled because I wear hijab for 7 yrs. now and I used to just trim it myself. Well, I have decided that I am going to keep it styled so that when I go to an all female muslim party of when I have company over or even just home with the fam...I can look beautiful and feel it too!

hmmm i had to think about that. i also bought the pedegg about a week ago and its great!! i still have some work to do though.
i feel the most beautiful when im sparkling clean. fresh out of the shower, skin, hair and teeth clean. hair shiny and healthy feeling. clothes fresh. the perfumes and things help yes, but just the initial part of being spanking brand new clean is the best.
not to mention when my husband walks in and says "wowwww"

"pedegg" ..
Aha! I think I need to get in to that in a big way! My sil looks at my feet and actively tuts!!!!!!! It use to be so much easier to get to those feet many years ago I avoid the struggle these days LOL LOL.
Sadly I don't think I felt outwardly beautiful in awhile so I'll have to do a memory check and think about it. Hmm perhaps this is a wakeup call, I need to pamper myself a little. Sleep is something that if you get enough of it you just get up feeling greaaat. However I'm a bit sleep deprived so I have a tendency to get up wanting to go to bed lollolol. I'll think about it and I'll be back inshallah with an enthusiastic response. The rest of you sisters I think you better post because I'm in need of a lot of help if I attempt a makeover LoL LOL LOL

Assalamu Alaikum:
I usually give my self a facial with this mint facial mask, so refreshing, mashallah. I dont get to take too much bubble baths, just in and out the shower, but when I do it is so relaxing! I put on perfume if I know I am not going out. With three kids, you have to make time for yourself!

I love love love love Facials, but not the home kind. The kind which you have done by a Salon. OMG I cannot tell you how relaxed and alive I feel after one. Its amazing how much stress our faces actually hold and when its released it AHhhhhhhhhhhhmazing!! The last time I had one was about in January, my Dh got me a Day Spa Pass, I went the whole day and got a HOUR facial and a hour Back Massage (by a Female of course), and a Mani and a Pedi (I don't care for those though)... I walked out like a overcooked noodle..Need to go back.

I feel really beautiful after a good shower and I have shaved my legs and rubbed them with almond oil. I love it when my legs feel silky and smooth. I also feel really beautiful when my hijab matches my outfit. Yeah, that's when I'm hot.
Waiting on the World to Change.
