So how many people use actions? I believe in both Photo shop and Paint shop pro you can use actions/scripts. What are some of your favorites. Would you like to share before and afters!! :D

Yes, I do manual edits and use actions as well.  I love actions.  I tend to like the ones that you can tweak to your liking better though so you have more control over the effect that it gives.  I've paid for many actions but I also have many free actions as well.

IMO, the best sites to get free actions are http://www.deviantart.com/ (I believe it is) and http://www.atncentral.com/.  Some of my favorite actions to use are David's Childish B&Ws and Midnight Sepia.

I'll post some before & after's later. =)

Yes, I am a big fan of actions! They help so much in cutting down your processing time and when you're not very experienced in photoshop they can make ALL the difference between an amateur shot and one that's worthy of being printed on canvas!

I write my own often, but I also use www.atncentral.com. BUT, I purchased an action set from Ashley McNamara (http://www.ashleymcnamara.com/) and LOVE LOVE LOVE them! I use them so much, it's crazy!!! Can't get enough of these. :)

Okay I am dying to use some actions.  I love Mulletgod's from Flickr, but I still havent figured out how to load them.  I have PSE7 and someone gave me some great directions...here but it says that there should be two folders that I download and there is always only one.

Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

I actually do not use actions, more because I like to have complete control over every aspect of my processing, not because I don't like them.  Some of the ones I've seen are VERY neat, and I'd love to have one for adding a really nice watermark/signature, but the ones I've found cost a bit too much for me LOL

I loveeee actions. I found some new ones last night that I played around with.

original-

cross processing actions...

see how bright his eyes are in this last one, love it! the actions seti downloaded has a great "local contrast brush" and "dark sharpen brush" that make eyes look amazing!

i found the actions here

http://www.reynsphoto.com/articles/Post_Processing/html/70_Photoshop_Actions.php

the dowload comes with 70 actions and it has examples on their page of each of the actions

These actions are great ladies! I love the Colorlicious one! (I think that's what it's called)

I have just regular old Photoshop CS and I have yet to play around with actions even though I am dying to! I am going to check out the websites and links that you guys posted....but I have a question.....do you have to have your images in RAW before you can use an action or can I use it with any old jpeg image?

Also does anyone know a good site with a tutorial on how to load the actions to PS and then again on how to actually run the actions?

You can run actions on any image open in photoshop. :)

Loading and running them is very, very, very easy. You save the action to your computer from whatever website you found it on, then open photoshop, open your actions palette (under "Windows", if you're having trouble finding it in your palettes), click the tab at the top right of your actions palette, and choose "Load Action." You choose the file from your computer, and then it will appear at the botton of your actions menu.

Open the image you want to edit, select the action from the menu, then just push play!
