I have an etsy store. I just started mine so I have been in the process of getting the word out there. Just to see how well my listings were showing up I logged out and looked for similiar jewelry as I listed, and mine did show up on the list so I would recommend it. Also, something I have yet to do but would recommend is make a facebook page for your store, let social media work for you and that way it would be about the store and not about your personal information ya know? Etsy also has a program where you can 'feature' an item. You take one of your items that you really like, photographed well exc and pay $7 and that item will be featured for a day. Great way to draw people into your shop to take a look at not only the featured item but the other items as well. Also build a friendship base on etsy. It will help. Word of mouth as well, have your friends tell friends. My last bit of adivice would be to set up your store early, doesn't mean you have to list everything but it will help with getting you listings saved as drafts so the last minute before launch your not hauling butt trying to get everything posted (this one I learned the hard way listing well over 50 items took a good chunk of my day I would have rathered just done them a few at a time and saved them to drafts) I don't know if any of this was helpful, like I said I am just starting out as well. Good luck and send me the link when you open your etsy store, love the pic you posted of you tote. I don't have a circle yet or friends on there yet but would be glad to help if once you create an etsy account you want to add me as a friend. Mine is opalsjewelry.etsy.com I would be happy to favorite your shop and help spread the word.

Good luck and much success to you.

THANK YOU SOOOOOOOO MUCH!!!!  that information was extrememly helpful!  i didn't know i could draft listings.  i assume then i don't have to pay for the listings until i actually list them??  i have an etsy acct already because i buy from there.  so let me know what your link is. i'll add you to my circle!

also...i assume you use paypal.  how easy is that and did you set up a different bank acct for that. i think i will do that so i don't have things mess up my regular checkbook.  i still have to do that, but if i can draft listings before having to set that up, that would be great!

Sorry it took so long to get back to you my computer went out been using my husbands and for some reason his was having a problem loading cafemom. Paypal is extremely easy! Love it. I would love to join circles, my etsy name is opalsjewelry I can't wait to visit your shop! I just use my bank account, one of the reasons I love paypal is that it protects you from having the buyer have your personal account info. It is like the middle man so that your account info doesn't end up somehow on there statement and vice versa. I have really been happy with paypal. You can use more than one account on there I just use one though.
