Some of you may remember me from eons ago when I last posted. DH & I adopted both our kids as newborns, and both were exposed to meth in-utero. DD has behavioral issues and DS has some developmental delays, mainly in speech. Like most siblings, DD (our older child) eggs on her little brother and gets him to do naughty things. Between the stress from my new job, summer vacation with kids home all day, and some pretty obnoxious behavior (spitting on the walls, etc), we both find ourselves yelling at the kids sometimes with steam coming out of our ears. We know we need to get back on track.
Has anyone else had this problem? Part of our problem is that we are at opposite ends of the spectrum with discipline. DH has said he doesn't like the idea of parents being in authority, and wants us to be equals. I think that is complete nonsense (but tried to say so in a nicer way, LOL). Today was a pretty horrible day.
Feel free to tell me what I know I need to hear. I don't like the way things are going right now and I don't want it to stay this way.

choices choices choices you dont have to yell you just have to enforce the consequences calmly and act like their behavior doesn't bother you
