Hi all. I'm Bee. I'm a mom to a 4 year old (almost 5) little boy with A LOT of spirit and little focus. We've been having trouble lately getting him to follow directions, listen, and stop with the attitude and hitting, so Love and Logic was suggested to me and my DF. We looked up some free info about it and decided to give it a try. This is out first day. We went from time out, making all the choices, a behavior chart, and a lot of stress to Love and Logic. Since he got out of school at noon and we explained things to him, he's been in his room like 5 or 6 times. It seems that his attitude gets worse with every time in his room. I know he's going to try to resist, but I'm just a little worried.

It's hard to remember to stop reminding him and warning him, but things have been going okay. How are things going with you guys and can anyone give me some extra pointers?

Just remember that in the 'short term" he will try everything  he can to get business back to usual...first technique that I teach in my class is "Empathy"...ex: What a bummer, you didn't eat your dinner and now your hungry, no worries you can have carrots or I saved it for you in the fridge, it's a bit cold but here it is. Empathy is what gets our kids to stay in the "thinking mode" rather in the flight or flight mode. Also, focus "one behavior first", you will end up collasping form exhaustion otherwise. Each week work towards a new techniques once ytou have a better understanding of it and can do it without breaking a sweat.

Good Luck!
