She is so cranky and wants on my lap all day, well I can't I have to work.  So i grabbed an extra keyboard and tried this for awhile, until I was invading her space and she kept pushing my arms out of her way.  I need babysitter who works for free.  lol  Having a hard week working.

I feel your pain! I'm in the same boat and definately don't have money for a sitter. I'll be praying for you!

The extra keyboard thing is a good idea (my daughter still has hers for when she's role-playing the working mommy - she's 7 now).

Try sitting her on the floor near your desk and "encourage" her to type a message like Mommy.  It's a long, hard road, but eventually, she'll move onto something else.  That being said, I still have mine in an afterschool program (and she was in daycare as much as we could afford it when she was younger).  I have conference calls off-and-on all day and can't afford for everyone to here "Mommy, my movie is over".  ;)

Hang in there, mama!

LOL. I had to do the same thing with my daughter--giving her her own keyboard to type on! I notice that when I sit at the table or desk, where I'm higher and farther away from her, she wants to climb up on my lap. But when I sit on the couch or the floor with my laptop, she's content to just sit on the floor next to me or wander around and play. Maybe if you can possibly move the computer so you're more on her level, she'll feel like you're nearby even if you're not fully interacting with her.

I'm pretty much stuck at the desk.  I'm a medical transcriptionist and have a foot pedal and if I had that out in the open, that could bring a different kind of interesting.  She is normally pretty content to play in my office, I have her blocked so she can't get out of sight, it is just with her teething and just not feeling good all she wants is held and is right at my chair side.

Boy do I ever know the feeling!!  Right now I have a babysitter come in the mornings, but in 4 months my ds will be 2 years old, and I'm thinking of sending him to nursery school for a couple hours in the morning instead.  I think he'd really love it, he gets extremely bored being inside with mommy all damn day...lol.  When he was younger I couldn't imagine doing that (since staying at home with him was part of the reason I work at home), but now that he's such a big boy, I'm looking forward to it!
