Hello all! It's been quiet around here but I have a question that I hope someone might be able to help with. I am a Health Ins agent who works from home and that is going great! I do have a friend though who is trying to find a work from home, freelance type job but doesn't know how to tell if they are legit or not with all the scams going on out there. I have no experience with that type of work so I can't help her. Do any of you have any info to help her out?  She is a paralegal with an associates degree.

Thanks in advance!  I hope everyone is doing well. Happy Holidays!!!

I'm still out of work myself and am willing to work in or out of the home, but this is what I'm doing. I do not apply for any of those work-from-home ads. Your friend is a paralegal, so she shouldn't have to do that either. What I'm doing is applying for REAL in-office positions both in state and out of state. I'm in educational publishing, so it's a small niche, so if someone out of state likes my qualifications, they might be willing to hire me to telecommute. I'm not sure how paralegals work. Perhaps they're like lawyers and can only work in the state they're certified with, if so then that's not an option for her. If she's just looking for something part-time to make some extra cash, then I think she could probably find freelance paralegal work or legal editing, etc. I'd suggest just googling and looking around on indeed.com and simplyhired.com and see what she can come up with. Corporations might want someone with a legal background, too, to help read over/write legal contracts or technical materials, etc., so she could probably break into almost any type of industry rather than just with a law firm.

JOBS as "employee" pay is TOUGH finding working from home due to the worker's comp laws....

I was sick of the rat race being an employee (RN, medical fraud investigator)  and Tim and I love the time freedom being debt free has afforded us, but getting back to the employee job working from home... I'd say call EVERY employer that you worked for in the past that LOVED your work ethics, and offer to sign a release for any benefits and sometimes they allow it to happen.  You never know until you ask!!!

Hope this helps!!!  Be Blessed!!

Look at craigslist in the jobs section and search for telecommuting positions.
