Father's Day Craft

Just wanted to share what Sofia and I just made for Daddy for Father's Day. Of course, I had her making a tree thinking for sure it would be easy to find a father as a tree metaphor poem. Eh, no luck, so I had to write my own. Here's the photo and then the poem below in case you can't read it. We used Sofia's handprint for the branches, I just made the trunk and she painted on the leaves. We were going to have her use her fingerprints for leaves--but that didn't work out very well, lol.

My Daddy's big and strong,
As a majestic tree.
Arms outstretched like branches
Shelter and protect me.
His love for me blooms in
Innumerable leaves.

I'm a little sapling—
So much to learn and know.
With Dad's loving guidance,
I'll develop and grow.
Respect, care, and support,
Qualities he'll bestow.

Did anyone else's little ones make a Father's Day craft?

Awww that is really sweet!!  Very creative, and I bet Sofia loved making it, lol.  Man you're brave for even trying that!  I think if I let Liam get his grubby mitts on finger paint, a tantrum would ensue if he didn't get to paint all over his entire body and every reachable surface.  Me, I picked out a card at the grocery store when I went shopping last night...cop out!  Ohhh well, maybe next year.

Oh what a great idea! I wish I would have been more thoughtful about that. Well maybe next year! Sky will be 2 and it will mean more anyway:) Kudos to you for taking the time out to do that!

I almost forgot to ask!  Was the card well-received, or what?  (I'm sure it was!)  Have a good FD in general?

And how long 'til Disney??  :-D

He thought it was cute, but didn't really seem to catch on that I had to put a lot of thought into writing the poem. Maybe he didn't really get the metaphor, lol. But I had also gotten him a hat that he had been looking for for a couple of years to replace one he had, and I sort of let it slip beforehand that I got him something he had been looking for but couldn't find...and of course he guessed it was the damn hat and I do NOT have a poker face, lol. So more of the focus of the gift was him getting a kick out of guessing the hat, lol.

Other than that, we went out for sushi. Sofia loved a cucumber roll, which surprised me that she loved the seaweed wrapper.

How was your Father's Day? **And everyone else's too?**

We're leaving on Tuesday.

Aww that's a nice gift!  My hubby and I always have a hard time keeping secrets from each other, too.  We're always either giving too many hints or giving the presents too soon b/c we can't wait, haha.

Ours was pretty good, laid-back!  Nice and relaxing.  :-)

We had a good Father's Day too.....Sorry so late in posting but I wanted to tell Jen She inspired me to make something for my hubby. I will try to post a pic later. Not nearly as cool as yours Jen. But it made him smile so mission accomplished!
