Well if it's not worn than probably.  It would probably need a lining or slip under it (sheets are usually thin).  My grandma gave me a practically new set of satin sheets to use for some dresses.  Very pretty blue.  Haven't made anything yet, but will eventually lol.  An old worn bed sheet??  well maybe double it up sew the edges and make a picnic blanket out of it??  Or a table cloth for a picnic table??

1 mom liked this

I've used sheets for receiving blankets, diapers, jelly bags, and skirts.  In my opinion, a used sheet is just a cheap piece of fabric.  If it's plain or has a cute pattern, I don't see why you can't use it for anything you'd use lightweight cottong for.

Actually, all I did was stitch a couple layers of fabric together.  Then fold into the right size to fit into a gDiaper cover when needed.

That's a good idea, diapers.  SO any suggestions on the diaper cover???  I need to make some for my dd while we potty train.  I'm tired and broke of buying diapers lol.  But i don't know what to make covers out of..

I have yet to ever see PUL, I literally have NO idea what that is lol.  Wool, isn't that itchy and hot??  Maybe I can find some covers at a gargage sale or something.

polyurethane laminate is PUL. i think hancock fabrics has started carrying it.

I don't know about the wool. women in the diaper groups swear by it.

you can also look at ebay, craig's list and freecycle. I know they usually have some.

I have a few skirts made from sheets. i love them in the summer. i always wear a slip so even if the material is a little thin i'm sltill covered. i hve to admit my favorite skirt at the moment is a skirt made fom a sheet.

I was actually thinking of making a nightgown out of an old sheet. Glad to know I'm not the only one thinking of making clothes from a sheet LOL
