Has anyone done this??  Our library ladies made some to sell at the library.  They bought old sweaters from yard sales and goodwill last spring.  They only did gloves, but it seems like you could make a matching set with some hats and even a scarf.  Just curious how hard they were and if they were itchy and warm??  I don't have any old sweaters but i'm sure now would be the time to find them the 2nd hands stores..

I've been collecting some sweaters to try this on.  I went to goodwill today and picked up a few nice fleece blankets to use as the lining too.  $3 for a blanket is much cheaper than buying the fleece by the yard.  I am hoping to try one out this weekend.  I will take pictures for sure.  They sound super easy and I've found some really neat ideas online for reusing old sweaters too..  My kids are excited lol.!

Ok, I got one almost done.  It has a flannel lining and a wool/cotton outside.  This one is for my son and I still have to add the ties to it.  I don't have any yarm, so I'm going to have to get some.  What do you think?  I'm going to make some matching gloves from the scraps, there is still alot of the sweater left.

I've been taking pictures as I go so I can post a tutorial for them as  well.

I've been playing with the patterns and have one almost figured out.  I've been taking pictures as I go.  Basically I used a regular knit hat as a pattern, and just traced the hands.  I will get a tutorial posted on here for you all.  It's been fun to play with the idea.

I haven't tried it but craftster.org has quite a few tutorials on just about everything. I would like to try arm warmers using sweaters.

Digging out our hats and gloves for this year, their favorites are the ones I made lol (pictured above).

I remember wearing leg warmers as a kid, you could probably make them too!
