On Wednesday I took a bag of dried beans and put it a container for my 17 month old. We sat on a towel and played with them together for like 45 minutes before he lossed interest. He has loved them every day since them! He points at the box, it is so cute. I have to watch him really carefully, but he loves it. I gave him all sorts of containers to pour them to and from!

I didnt know dried beans could be that much fun!

1 mom liked this

i put coffee beans in a container for her and taped it shut she loves the sounds they make.

i also made her a bottle with water colored blue and oil. she loves making her own waves with it. i want to get some babyoil and put knut or screws in for her. and definately one with glitter.

have you seen the "I Spy" jars for older kids?  You put rice in a bottle with a bunch of little things and a list of what they are supposed to find.

When my little ones were babies my mom used to put raw rice in medicine bottles or other containers with a lid and they used them as rattles. They loved them more than the actual rattles we bought them!!
