we canceled our cabel effective tomorrow.  This is a big step for us b/c both dh and I love to watch tv, but there's just too much junk we don't want our girls seeing...even just commercials.  I know this isn't for everyone, but what we feel is best for our family.  I heard someone say recently and it stuck hard, "if you have to turn the channel, then its already too late."  Wow, powerful statement!  Our budget is going to like this too!  Its about another $50.00 in our account each month! Wish me luck!  I'm really addicted!  Maybe I'll get that stack of books read now!

Yay! We cancelled our cable a few months ago. It is so nice to not have to feel like I have to stop what I'm doing to turn the TV on a certain time. I still watch all my shows on Hulu, Netflix, or a million other places. You really can watch everything online now.

I think the only thing that is hard to find online is sports. But we don't watch sports much, so no prob.

We haven't had our cable turned on since moving back. We probably will only because it comes as part of the package with our local phone company, but it is do-able! It was hard at first not having it because there were A LOT of shows that I watched all the time, but now I could not even get it back and I would be fine.

Yes besides getting rid of the "filth" that comes into our home we're hoping it improves the quality of our family time!

I could probably do without it, we didn't have it for about 3 weeks when we moved to LA (not where I live now) and we managed to do fine. Now we have Directv, could we do without it?  I would say yes, the kids and I could do something else or find our favorite shows somewhere else. DH scouts for football I am not sure if he can get the specific games that he needs to watch online, but then again you can find anything online LOL so...
