My DD is turning 2 in March and I am trying to plan her party. We are having a small get together at our home and I plan on having 8 to 12 kids there. Her theme is puppy dogs- she is obsessed with them. My problem is, that where I live, you never know what the weather will be like. We just got our kids a new wooden swing set and ideally I would like kids to be outside playing. But the March I had my daughter, we got 8 inches of snow and ice that week. So I need to plan some activites to keep the kids busy in the house. Any ideas for games or crafts that we could do? Kids ages will range from 2 to 9. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
My son turns 10 on March 9th so I know your predicament. We definitely do the craft thing for our parties. My favorite so far has been getting them all a canvas and letting them paint whatever they want on it. We do things like that really every party we have though, regardless of the weather. Indoor treasure hunts are always fun too.
I love the canvas idea!

This is a big age range. Try some old fashioned activities like Pass the Parcel, Chicken Dance, Kim's Game, Blind Man's Bluff, and Oranges and Lemons. You could make up a picture puzzle of a dog and have them assemble it in pairs with older children doing the cutting, but both doing the placing and pasting. What about some clay stuff and they form something and you bake it in the oven while the party is on so they can take it home. The children could make doggie crowns from cardboard strips and pictures of dogs cut from a cheap book. Be careful if you are serving hot dogs as little children sometimes believe they are made from real dogs.
