I know as parents we really shouldn't load our kids up with sugar. It's not good for them blah, blah. But some of my best childhood memories (these are the rare ones with the stepmonster) was homebaked made anything treats. So here's one from one of my favorite foodie blogs that kids can help make as well. It's a two-fer LOL! A sweet treat AND a way to get kids in the kitchen helping....
Mini Rolo Flurries
2 scoops vanilla ice cream (my favorite is Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla)
About 6 Rolos
A tiny splash of milk
A few spoonfuls of caramel sauce
1. Cut Rolos into rough pieces. Place ice cream, milk, and 4 of the cut up Rolos in the blender and blend until smooth. You may have to stop and stir to break up the candy.
2. Stir in the remaining chopped Rolos. Spoon a bit of caramel into your jar, then top with ice cream. Top with more caramel and candy, if desired. Place lid on jar and freeze until you’re ready to eat.
