Summer means a whole new schedule. Kids go to bed later, can sleep in and it can be different every day. Get your kids to bed early tonight and start to get them back on a school sleeping schedule. How much does your summer routine vary from the school year?

I'm actually a "mean mom." Or so my own mom has told me. I don't let them stay up all summer. They are 8 and 5. Their school routine is to lay down around 8 and they're usually asleep no later than 9. They wake at 6:30. Over the summer, I MAY let them stay up until 9 a night a week. But, that's it. And they're awake no later than 7;30. I don't want to be the mom fighting the night before school starts, for them to go to sleep at 10 or 11.
We start about 2 weeks before school starts, trying to get ds on a routine and earlier bedtime. We slowly make bedtime earlier, a little earlier each day.
My son is a disaster going to sleep because of his autism and auto immune disorder. I aim for 8:30 every night no matter summer or winter and some days its almost midnight :/ and he is not being bad he just cant breathe well or cant get comfortable and settled etc. You can tell he is tired and wants to sleep but just cant poor kiddo
