It may be summertime but that doesn't mean the chalkboards should disappear! They may be key in classrooms but chalkboard paint can be useful around the home, whether it be for message boards ("Honey, don't forget to pick up the kids from soccer practice!") or a canvas for your little artist.
Chalkboard paint is an easily cleaned water-based paint that will adhere to many surfaces which allows you to create a chalkboard basically anywhere you want, though smooth surfaces work best.
You can find chalkboard paint at most home improvement stores and you can now even buy it in different colors.
Do you like the idea of chalkboard paint? What kind of use would you get out of it?
We're hoping to move in the next year & we'll definitely be trying it! I've wanted to, but we are going to put the house on the market, so we didn't do it.

We don't have chalkboard paint, but we have these on the walls in our playroom and I LOVE them. http://www.rosenberryrooms.com/219-chalkboard-animals-wall-candy.html
We have a hidden playroom under the stairs (my six year old calls it his "special room") and we painted the back wall of it with green chalkboard paint. It gets a lot of use by him and his friends. I love it because it doesn't take up room like an easel would and gives a much bigger space for him to express his creativeness.
We have an almost 15 month old son. My husband bought a large piece of foam board and a can of black chalkboard spray paint. My hubby sprayed the one side of the foam board with paint so our son could make pictures like daddy (my hubby does artwork on the computer and son loves to spend hours looking at daddy's pictures).
That's a great idea! I need to have a chat with my hubby now lol.
