I am watching a dicumentary on Discovery Science called when we left Earth and it talks about all the missions launched by NASA. I just get chills when I see the rockets launch.
I was just thinking how much more we could do with Space Exploration if there were a coalition of nations involved, instead of this me against you competition we have with others who are exploring space. The US could budget less for it if other countries contributed funds and know how.
There are some who want to "privatize" space. But I'm not sure if giving private corporations access to space is a good idea.

i agree! although i think we've come a long way from the days of the race to space,we are still not where we need to be as far as global cooperation is concerned. we gather astronauts from different countries and send them up to a space station together, and share information worldwide as far education and analyzing, but we really aren't utilizing every source we could. maybe in time things will be better. then again, they may get worse
I agree. I love the space program. I think it is amazing and every time I see a rocket blast off I get chills. I got teary eyed during the documentary when they show the actually footage from Apollo 13. But I think that if this were to become a global effort with money coming from other countries into 1 conglomerate space program, then we could put more money into exploring the oceans and finding solutions to fixing our planet.

Yup. But if they aren't going to save the planet, I hope they do decide to focus on space. We have to live somewhere.
