I know some women get up at the crack of dawn or before to start the meal.  Not me, I plan our meal late in the day to avoid getting up and truthfully to give cleaning time now that there are small children in the house again.

How do you do it?

How far you go in life depends on your being: tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving and tolerant of both the weak and strong.  Because someday in life you would have been one or all of these.  GeorgeWashingtonCarver

  •  I started last night with some brownies (my dd made them - I'm so proud) and spinach dip for the bread bowl.

And we've been baking pies and prepping other dishes all day today.

Then there's the stuff like mashed potatoes and dinner rolls (from the breadmaker) and other hors d'oeuvres that must be made fresh.

We're putting the turkey onto the barbecue at 9:00 in the morning, and planning for a 3:00 dinner.

Oh, and yes -  then there's all the cleaning!

  •  I should be starting tonight.  I'm going to my parents house but I do have things I normally would be doing and I lack all motivation to do this year.  Had I been on my game pie crusts would be made, mashed sweet potatoes would be ready to be put in the oven tomorrow and cranberry sauce would be in the fridge.

This is my 'I don't give a darn' year I guess.
