Pres. Obama's Eid Greetings (I almost want to gag)
THE WHITE HOUSE November 25, 2009
Statement by the President on Hajjand Eid-ul-Adha
Michelle and I would like to send our best wishes to all those performing Hajj this year, and to Muslims in America and around the world who are celebrating Eid-ul-Adha. The rituals of Hajj and Eid-ul-Adha both serve as reminders of the shared Abrahamic roots of three of the world's major religions.
During Hajj, the world's largest and most diverse gathering, three million Muslims from all walks of life - including thousands of American Muslims - will stand in prayer on Mount Arafat. The following day, Muslims around the world will celebrate Eid-ul-Adha and distribute food to the less fortunate to commemorate Abraham's willingness to sacrifice his son out of obedience to God.
This year, I am pleased that the Department of Health and Human Services has partnered with the Saudi Health Ministry to prevent and limit the spread of H1N1 during Hajj. Cooperating on combating H1N1 is one of the ways we are implementing my administration' s commitment to partnership in areas of mutual interest.
On behalf of the American people, we would like to extend our greetings during this Hajj season - Eid Mubarak.

Why would you want to gag? I think it's great that we have a President who will acknowledge other faiths

Because he is a hypocrite and I don't need nor do I accept any holiday greeting from him.
Not criticizing, just wondering why you think he is a hypocrite in this instance.

Rise up this morning, smile at the rising sun; Three little birds, pitch by my doorstep; Singing sweet songs, a melody pure and true; Singing, this is my message to you-ou-ou; Singing Don't worry, about a thing; Cause every little thing is gonna be alright.

Well it's not just with this instance. I think he is a hypocrite all together and I can not bring myself to respect a hypocrite.
I feel that he has little to no experience and it seems to be that he does not have a clue what he is doing in the White House or with world affairs as far as that goes.
He talks out of both sides of his mouth. for example... He stood on June 4th 2008 and gave his speech before A.I.P.A.C. then turned around a year later in June 2009 and gave his speech to what he calls the "Muslim World"
Two completely different messages and two completely different stands on things making it all so hypocritical.
Then we have the Obama from about 7 years back and his support and sympathy for the Palestinian people and then we have the Obama of 2008/09 turned Zionist for his own political agenda... The White House.
He literally sold his soul to the Zionist to get where he wanted to be
That is just the tip of the ice berg why I find him to be a hypocrite and a liar and do not wish to accept his holiday greeting.
Sounds like a nice greeting and it sounds like you (op) have a lot of misplaced anger.

Ok so he is wishy washy ....all presidents are they are nothing but a position where the entire nation has a place to point the finger(or extend it as the case may be).
That being said I cannot believe he had to throw in H1N1 into this message.

That's what I was thinking. Like a salesman who has to make his pitch no matter the circumstances or how appropriate it isn't. Big Pharma sure does seem to have him bagged.

I don't know, I think it's a genuine concern - 2 million people gathered together from all over the world. Can you imagine if someone had the virus at this event with that number of people - it could spread across the globe in no time. I say good for them that they've partnered to help stop the spread of H1N1.
A society which emphasizes uniformity is one which creates intolerance and hate. - Pierre E. Trudeau
I have watched some of Obamas speaches online and I am not impressed, he was prepared, like someone wrote what to say and he had 2 minutes to memorize it.
Even called a inhaler a breathalyzer. And said he had been to 57 states with 2 more to go. How many states are in the U.S? I don't even pretend to know what goes on in the White house, and frankly don't care what race the president is, he could be blue for all I care. I wish we could have a competent president, one that is prepared before a speech. And not wishy washy, I think we should have something set up for when they are campaigning they make all these promises, they should have to keep everyone of them. So maybe they think about what they promise and strive to do so. Not just to get elected.
I'm not sure why any speech has to be based around a religion? I dont think it should be, he's the president, not a pastor. There are just too many religions in the U.S alone, it will always make someone mad. Should do like the public schools do and keep religion out of it.
Only my opinion, I know how people get with the "Hot topics" like politics and religion.
