Instead of it being North Georgia this time Central and South Georgia is getting hit by flooding, and a lot of people are losing their homes right now and being evacuated in several areas.

100's Evacuated from Hudson Malone Towers

Posted: Dec 14, 2009 6:39 PM EST Updated: Dec 14, 2009 6:39 PM EST

About 100 people were just evacuated from the Hudson Malone Towers building in Downtown Albany.

Just a few minutes before five Monday afternoon, the fire department got a call about a fire inside the high rise apartment building on Flint Avenue.

Firefighters and EMS workers had to use special equipment to get the residents out.

Many of them are elderly or disabled.

Fire Chief Jim Carswell tells us an electrical problem in a panel box sparked a small fire that filled a couple of hallways with smoke.

Paramedics treated a couple of people on the scene for respiratory problems, but no one had to be taken to the hospital.

Right now, those evacuees are being taken to the SOWEGA Council on Aging Senior Center on Pine Avenue.

Yes, it would be partcularly hard moving those who have medical issues if it were colder. At least we are using our buses...

It has to be better than the drought. Or maybe not.

Droughts are bad but they have steps that can be taken to adjust for them. Floods on the other hand really it is hang on and hope it doesn't wash you out.

Ok, I'm very tired, but the title of your post sounds like a porno about a girl named Georgia.
