**JUSTICE**

Sometimes the criminal justice system gets it right.  The man who sexually abused me when I was a child was let out on parole three years ago.  He served ten years of a twenty year sentence.  He violated his parole by creating a face book account.  His parole has been revoked and he is going to serve the remaining ten years of his sentence.  It's fantastic that he is now off the streets for ten more years and with any luck he will die there.  If not when he gets out he will be 70 years old.  I am so glad that he is back in prison and not trolling around on the Internet looking for his next victim.

While I am glad he is back in prison I think the justice system still failed by allowing him to only serve has his sentence in the first place.  Sexual abusers should stay in prison with no parole until their FULL time is served and then still be monitored for life when they get out.

You aren't going to get an argument from me there.  Within the confines of our current criminal justice system though I am so glad he is being prevented from harming another child for ten more years.  If it were up to me he would have been executed upon conviction but some folks think that's extreme.

You are correct we need stiffer penalties for sex offenders and I am not opposed to the death penalty for those who are truly sex offenders, not the young 18 year olds dating an underage person but the true sexual predators.

I am glad he broke parole and that his parole officer was actually keeping tabs on him and stuck him back where he belongs.

Question for you.  Did they call you to tell you he was getting out or to have you come speak at his parole hearing?

No they didn't contact me.  In fact when I called to get the information they told me I would have to ask my abuser for it.  I was so pissed I filed a complaint but nothing ever came of it.  I heard he was getting out via my sister.  I am no longer located in that state and my name has changed twice.  I also have very little to do with my family so I can't be that mad at them not contacting me in the first place.  I have made myself hard to find.

Thank God for a rare triumph in this sort of case.

He is where he should be and I am glad for you and for others!
