Sanford man gets 3 years for molesting 9-year-old girl

This really ticks me off.....

SANFORD – A 29-year-old Sanford man who had been charged with raping a 9-year-old girl Thursday pleaded no contest to a reduced charge in exchange for a three-year prison term.

Jeffrey Scott DePew is to be sentenced in July. Circuit Judge Marlene Alva put off his sentencing because his mother needs a kidney transplant, and doctors want to run tests to see if he's a possible donor.

He's to remain in the Seminole County Jail.

DePew pleaded no contest to felony battery – improperly touching the girl. He will not be designated a sex offender.

The girl told authorities that DePew raped her twice and molested her once, according to his arrest report.

Prosecutors said the girl's account was credible but they agreed to a shorter prison term because there was no evidence to corroborate it.

Ok that is really not right. I get no evidence but if they lete him out they should watch him closely so that he can't do it again.

This case is insane,,,,How can he not be punished for raping her?

Prosecutors said the girl's account was credible but they agreed to a shorter prison term because there was no evidence to corroborate it.

....

Well, since he isn't a sex offender, put him with general population. I mean, it's not like they will do anything

My adopted daughter was molested repeatedly and they would not even charge her birth father. Because even though her story was consistent and things a child should not know, they did not think they cannot win, so they would not even try. He walks free after doing HORRIBLE things to a 2-3 year old.....

Evidence?!  Is this child supposed to have access to what an adult would to have evidence.  This is ridiculous!  I have a 9 year old and I can guarantee you that if this happened she would not be bluffing and for someone to get off lightly, I'd kill him myself!

Send this to O'Reilly at FOX and he will be all over it.  He despises child molesters and judges that do nothing about it.

That is RIDICULOUS! He NEEDS to be on the sex offender list!

getting off {3 yrs} will encourage his behavior because he now has nothing to fear.
