Hey, who says that Glenn Beck isn't truthful?

Watch minutes 3:43-3:52

Yay to Ed for sticking a pin into the bloated Beck and his rally!

There's been NO apology forthcoming from ANY of our government officials who have SMEARED the entire group AS RACISTS simply based on the fact that they don't have whatever the magic statistical number of ethnic groups these liberal media talking heads THINK need to be there in order to PROVE legitimacy or 'non-racist' motivations, and there hasn't even been an AMENDED statement to those smear campaigns. So, get over that one. How many lefties called Bush a baby killer? Did they retract that? I don't think so.

In addition, he argues that Beck offered no POLITICAL or POLICY plans???? Uh, Shultz IS aware that Beck is a talk show host and NOT running for an office doesn't he? I don't know. He DOES work at MSNBC...the ones who TRIED to use the edited photo of an African American attendee at a tea party donning an assault rifle as evidence of WHITE RACISTS toting GUNS, so you know....I don't view them as LEGITIMATE news...Matthews felt a tingle up his leg at an Obama speech and has referred to Saul Alinsky as a 'great man' and leader of the progressive left...so, again, not JOURNALISTS really. Just talking heads filled with a lot of hot air that makes them FEEL important. Bet they couldn't draw a crowd of a half million to any one location...LOL Do they have that many viewers in a year? hahaha

Pati, I don't watch the news stations anymore, but I do know several tea party people who are active with the local groups, and I've heard some astonishing things from them over the last year and a half.

"I'm not interested in having a black man be president."

"He wasn't born here- he's a communist."

The first one was honest- the second one was the same message, wrapped up a little differently to disguise the intent. And of course, none of the folks who've said things like this were thinking these things until they heard them from certain individuals in the media. And no apologies have come from that quarter, either.

Now, how do you feel about Beck calling America back to God?

I just spent the weekend at my uncle's funeral with many of my 'racist' DEMOCRATIC family members...guess I 'could' extrapolate from that that ALL Dems are racist...isn't that what the people are saying is so wrong with the opposition to the mosque? They are using what a FEW muslims did in the name of their extreme view of the religion to call into suspicion ALL muslims? Funny that they don't see themselves doing the same thing they say is so egregious in this instance. I am not a racist. I resent being called one ad nauseum as if it's fact simply because it is stated, but I don't feel the need to be validated by people with whom I disagree anyway...I was just making the point that they offer no substantive evidence. They just continue to label a group that is in the millions based off of their assumptions or the actions/words of a few.

Calling people back to God. Well, I am a person who is a believer, and while I might agree on a personal level that some issues prevalent in our society today might be addressed better if we all took some of the more obvious messages from the religious doctrine and applied them in our own lives and therefore injected them overall into society, so I'm on a 'personal level' of agreement with him, I guess. However, I used to watch his show with a lot more continuity than I do lately. As I stated before, it isn't what I turn to the Fox News channel to hear, necessarily. Trouble is that he does still have on some interesting authors, historians, researchers and he does still inform on many other things current for the day: ie the economy, the debt, particular backgrounds of the administration that our media refuse to even try to investigate for their readership. So, I still dvr the show and I will check periodically on what the talking points for the show will be. Sometimes I fastforward past the stuff like this and other times I don't. It depends on my mood. Generally, however, I don't look to Beck for my spiritual guidance. Not because I think he's off base, necessarily, but because it isn't what I want him to do for me. Does that make sense?

I LOVED what he did for me with regards to the number of black founders and the way it USED to be taught in school--he provided the actual textbooks--until the progressives started to take hold.

I don't happen to think that calling a political ideology of the president socialist can be viewed as 'race' motivated. I don't think blacks who referred to Bush as a 'cowboy' or 'warmonger' or 'protector of the corporate wealth' etc were hiding racist agenda...they were speaking to his policies. I think it's unfortunate that suddenly ANY criticism that comes--and ALWAYS has --from the other side of ideology is suddenly to be declared racist motivated because the president happens to be black. It seems then, that I shouldn't want a black president from the OTHER side of political ideology EVER because ANY criticism is then ONLY rooted in race. Better watch out with the first black Republican president...there will be no end to pay back on that the other direction, I suppose...it's shameful and it disgraces not only the person who does it, but it keeps from any legitimate debate or conversation moving forward. It's truly very sad.
