YouTube Prankster Gets Two Months In Jail

By Adrian Chen, Apr 13, 2011 12:33 PM

YouTube Prankster Gets Two Months In JailRemember Evan Emory? The 21-year-old from Muskegon, Michigan was facing 20 years in prison for manufacturing child porn for a YouTube comedy video. He got 60 days in jail for the prank.

Emory posted a comedy video to YouTube edited to make it appear that he was singing a sexually explicit song to a bunch of schoolchildren. The parents of these children were not happy, and Emory was arrested and charged with "manufacturing child sexual abusive material."

But under a plea deal, Emory pled no contest to "unlawful posting of an Internet message with aggravating circumstances"; Yesterday he was sentenced to 60 days in jail, three years probation and forbidden from contact all kids under 17. Parents are pissed that the sentence is too lenient. Because any crime involving kids and the Internet should automatically result in the death penalty. We'll just accept the 60-day sentence as a fair splitting of the difference between the public's ludicrously outsized outrage and the one day in jail that Emory should have realistically been sentenced to, max. Wow... what did he get in trouble for? He didn't molest anyone and it was just a fake video.

Meanwhile, nobody cares when a dance instructor dresses up her 8 year old students as mini prostitutes and parades them around to the tune of All my Single Ladies for all the pedophiles to watch for years to come.

Ok, so every director/actor/producer of any TV show or movie that insinuates sexual violence against children needs to be brought up on charges too.

Bye, bye Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and A Time To Kill.
