A Transportation Security Administration officer was arrested Monday night at Orlando International Airport after he allegedly tried to bring a gun through a security checkpoint.

Rynel B. Delacruz, 25, faces an aviation personal conduct charge. He was released Tuesday after posting $250 bail.

According to police reports, Delacruz placed a piece of luggage on an x-ray machine at a checkpoint shortly after 10 p.m. Monday. The screener noticed the gun in the bag and contacted supervisors, and Orlando police were called.

The responding officer reported finding a fully loaded Ruger .380 handgun. Delacruz said he had forgotten the gun was in his luggage, according to the police report.

Man says he forgot he had gun in luggage.

I'm sorry, people who handle weapons should never forget how to handle them properly, where you can bring them and especially whether or not they're loaded. what a jackass. Maybe he was poking fun at himself and every other TSA agent to get press.

Are there unions in the private corporations dealing with TSA?

TSA  unionized in either dec of late last year or Jan of this year.  I did not think that they would be able to do it but they did it and they are proud! They should not have been allowed to do so.
