Random Acts of Violence

What are your thoughts about completley random acts of violence?

Do you think that these acts are ever totally random?

Do you know anyone who has been the victim of a totally random act of violence.

I am not talking robbery or theft.  I am talking a group attack on an individual for seemingly no reason?

Thoughts?

I guess it depends on the perpetrator.

I think sometimes people just get completely bent and lose their mind and act out. Hysteria? IMO a crowd mentality can be quickly addictive.

I think there are truly random acts of violence, and I find it disturbing to say the least.

As you know from the other thread it has happened to me so yes, there can be totally random acts of violence by a group attacking an individual for no reason at all.

I think the idea of a group for teens can sometimes equal trouble, and it only takes one or two troublemakers to incite the group.  Think of "alpha" kids, just one or two, and the rest are followers and don't want to be the ones turned on for going against the group so they go along with it, usually to bad end.

I do today after reading about the death of a young man at the hands of a complete and total stranger.  There had been no contact between then and no connection to anyone he knew.

It may very well be random to the victim. But to the perks its not random....they set out to harm, they Target a certain type.

Thanks for your input.  I am really trying to come to terms with what has happened to my kid.  I am trying to keep a level head.  Not sure I am doing a great job.

Only random to the person that is hurt.
The chuckle heads go out and look for something or someone to bust up.
