DELTA, Utah —

Police say they have found human remains during a search for a missing mother in Utah's rugged desert.

The remains were not immediately identified and it wasn't clear if the body was that of Susan Cox Powell.

West Valley Police Sgt. Mike Powell said the remains were found Wednesday by cadaver dogs as authorities searched for clues in the disappearance of Powell.

Authorities have been searching the area since Monday.

They say it's near a site where Powell's husband, Josh Powell, liked to camp. He is a person of interest in the case.

The mother of two children was last seen in December 2009 in West Valley City.

they might have found susan?? I haven't heard this.

Great news if they have. I hope they can nail her husband. I'm usually not one to jump the gun on the innocent until proven guilty but damn this man stinks.

First who takes their kids camping in single digit numbers? Then who moves out of state a month after your wife is missing? who doesn't allow their kids to see their grandparents of their missing mother?

he's all sorts of fishy.

It was also after midnight in single digits when he decided to take his boys camping.

I don't know if you heard this or not, but this guy's father is also some kind of weirdo creep.  He fancies himself a singer and has recorded songs -- about Susan, and about how he loves her.

I hope they can find out what happened and put her family at peace.

Oh I hope they have finally found her so her poor family can get some closure.  I live in Utah and I have followed this story pretty closely and I totally agree with you.  He gave me the creeps from the first time he was interviewed about his wife.  I cannot imagine how anyone could buy the "camping" story.

Powell.  why does that sound so familiar?  Is she the one where the husband said they were camping in the middle of winter?

He is definitely fishy.  And I do hope they nail him.

Yeah I know. I've saw some interviews with him. He is just as creepy as his son.

Yeah. I live in Utah too. It's very sad. I still don't understand how he could move back to Puyallup a month after she went missing. You would think he would stay and "act" as if he's waiting for her to come home, "act" as if she is still alive.

The first interview I saw of him, it's just all kinds of fishy.

Shoot Mark Hacking had a better act at the start than Josh Powell.

That and their far fetched story (josh powell & his dad) trying to link her to that missing man from southern utah that disappeared within a week of each other, THEY DIDN'T EVEN KNOW EACH OTHER.

Wow thank you.  I really hope it is her so her kids can have some closure.

I would like to believe this woman just ran off.  I would like her to be alive for her family here in my town but I find the husband his father/family to be disgusting human beings and I don't have a lot of confidence that she is still alive.
