Poll

Question: Do feel comfortable with your kids (under 5) seeing you naked? Example, getting dressed, going to the bathroom, showering, ect.

Options:

Under five it doesn't bother me at all.

I don't have an age limit. As long as the kids don't care neither do I.

No. Privacy is important in my home. I am not comfortable with my young children seeing me undressed ever.

This is a spin off of sorts of my v-bac doll post.

I said that most moms don't care if their young kids see them naked. A PP's response was Try not to make sweeping statements like this when you have no way of backing it up.

So now I'm trying to back that theory up,lol.

Oh yeah definitely then,lol.

Quoting krysstizzle:

Oh yeah, mine are 7 and 10, and they both still see me getting dressed. I was thinking more tween, teen ages, maybe?

Quoting paganbaby:

My ds is 7 and still sees me getting dressed *Shrugs*

Quoting krysstizzle:

I have 2 boys. I feel like the only difference (for me anyway) would be that daughters would see me naked without a fuss as they got older, whereas my boys will probably not be comfortable with it after a certain age. I still see my mom and grandma undressed, half dressed, what have you, sometimes.

i dont mind but i have girls i think i would feel different if i had a boy... MAYBE??

I swear once they get old enough that will be their first assigned regular chore - to clean the toilets.  With two young boys (plus DH) in the house, our toilets get so disgusting.  Makes me want a bathroom that's all my own that no one else gets to use.

Quoting paganbaby:

LOL!!

My boys are 5 and 7 and I've just recently started using more modesty around them.  They still occasionally catch me changing my clothes or coming out of the shower and it's no big deal.  The biggest thing for me is using the bathroom.  That's the one thing that DH and I have always kept private from each other and it's getting to an age now where I want to keep it private from my kids.  I also don't want to see them using the toilet either, unless it's to remind them "IN the bowl!  IN the bowl!"

Nope. You sound pretty normal to me,lol.

Quoting TC00:

Well I'm gonna sound like a pervert here but my kid as well as the kids I nanny for have seen me in various stages of undress.

When they spend the night at my house or I spend the night at theirs if I take a shower I usually don't even have enough time to fully undress before a kid or two or three barges in, even if I wait till they are all in bed.

Same thing with the potty. All of them barge in on me when I'm going potty and when we are out in public I have to take them in the stall with me, even though I didn't birth him I don't feel comfortable leaving a 2 yr old outside of the stall.

I've tried teaching boundaries but somehow they still don't get the concept.

Yeah, the women in my family are pretty laid back about that. They don't walk around naked (I still wouldn't care), but we change in the same room, or i'll talk to my mom while she's in the shower.

Quoting cloversmom808:

yeah i posted something about that a few days ago i seen my mom without a top doesnt bug me i wondered if other people were like this...

My kids are 7 and 9 (almost 10) and they still see me naked.  I undress in my room and then walk to the bathroom across the hall when I shower.  If they see me well then they see me.

Oh my gosh, I have 2 boys, how in the world are they so disgusting? It's mindboggling. I had no idea before... :/

I don't have an issue with it but I never did it intentionally.  I never had a problem shutting the door and going to the bathroom.  I like my privacy but never freaked if my girls saw me naked. Now at 13 & 10...I don't wanna scare them...lol!
