I think it is OUTRAGIOUS That families on PA are getting back $2,000+  on their tax returns! I mean you are already getting FREE FOOD from the government.. Then there are the hard working ones like my DH who dont get a dime back and have to pay IN! Its unreal. Let the bashing begin.

I found this in my other group, what do you think?

If they are paying taxes, and therefore helping fund, PA then I don't see why their taxes should follow different rules than everyone else. If they are due $2000 then give it to them. It will help their situations greatly

ETA:

I also hate the assumption that people on PA aren't hard-working.

We don't get a refund. We pay lots of taxes when hubby works 9 months and even if he is laid off during tax time we pay more. Nope no refund for us. :(

Should add we do get fs a couple months and sometimes medical for the kids when dh is laid off.

totally agree, their refund should at least be reduced by the amount of foodstamps they received

I've already had pizza. Don't need the carbs of popcorn. Cucumbers and hummus it is.

I can see your point, but not ALL people on PA are just lounging away at home. Some actually DO work to support their family the best they can, but due to what ever circumstance, just can't make ends meet. I have seen and do know one couple that, until VERY recently, neither of them worked and they had four kids and were perfectly fine with receiving PA as their sole income. What really set me off about them was that one of their children and cancer and BOTH were more than capable of working, but just didn't feel the need to, or want to. THOSE people...yes, they sshould not receive income tax rebates.

I think it is no ones business what one gets back, and no one should be bragging about their return.

With that being said, if you make enough to not get a return than you should be ASHAMED of yourself for looking down upon the less fortunate. You should be happy we live in a country with the programs in place that people don't have to go without food and shelter.

If you make so much that you aren't recieving a refund, you really won't suffer from such a tiny portion of your tax deductions going to help your fellow man.

How did they both manage to not work and receive PA? How did that even pay their rent?
