Thou Shalt Not Spill Thy Seed! Anti-Masturbation Amendment Added To Anti-Abortion Bill

February 8, 2012
By

On February 6, following Personhood USA’s push to proclaim fertilized human eggs the same as grown humans, the Republican dominated Oklahoma legislature introduced the bill known as “Personhood Bill” SB 1433 to the Senate Floor. In response, Democratic State Senator Constance Johnson attached an amendment to the bill that would ban the spilling of semen in any location other than a woman’s vagina.

According to the report in thelostogle.com, the amendment would outlaw masturbation by men, and all forms of sexual activity “in which a man ejaculates or otherwise deposits semen anywhere but in a woman’s vagina shall be interpreted and construed as an action against an unborn child.” Monty Python would be so proud!

She later removed the measure stating that she wanted to emphasize the absurdity of the bill and its sexist undertones that is inherent in Personhood movement.

Another State Senator Democrat Jim Wilson, attempted to add an amendment to the same bill that would require the father of the child to be financially responsible for the mother’s welfare for the duration of the pregnancy, including housing, food, transportation, and all medical costs.

As you may have guessed, this amendment also failed.

Oklahoma’s pending Senate Bill 1433 says that the fetus “at every stage of development (has) all the rights, privileges, and immunities available to other persons, citizens, and residents of this state.” If Senate Bill 1433 becomes a law, all forms of abortion and various forms of contraception could be considered murder and therefore illegal.

A similar bill to Senate Bill 1433 was defeated at the polls in Mississippi in November, 2011.

Remembering the legendary Christian and Tea Party candidate Christine O’Donnell’s stance about masturbation and sexual purity in the Bible, it is perplexing that the Senator Johnson’s amendment did not garner any support in Oklahoma Senate.

Between the years of 1907 and 2008, only 77 women have been elected to the Oklahoma state legislature, and currently less than 20 is serving out of a total 149. But who better to pass laws about women’s bodies than a group of men who will never have to worry about the consequences of their religious zealotry?

Why can't it be illegal? It's the neccesarry other half of a baby. And sperm donors should be held liable for a pregnancy. They created it. Arguably, if it wasn't for the men, there would be no children.

Okay, I want to laugh, but personhood bills are just stupid. What's next? Legal devision of males and females in order to prevent pregnancy out side of marriage?

I should probably think about moving to Oklahoma.  They apparently have solved all of their fiscal problems, there is no hunger or homelessness, and everyone must have a job and be well educated, because they have moved on to discussions of sperm.

If they are so ani-abortion are they going to take care of the unwanted babies till they are 18?  If not they need to deal with the issues they have and leave women alone.

AFTER ACTUALLY READING THE ARTICLE...I can see what she was trying to do:

"She later removed the measure stating that she wanted to emphasize the absurdity of the bill and its sexist undertones that is inherent in Personhood movement."

And we all here would be OK...it says MEN and THEIR mastabatory habits.

Yes, she is awesome.  It is a perfectly legit comparison.  Why is it so VERY outragous to control men's reproduction system, but so easy to make laws about a woman's?

The title made me laugh....sorry, it just reminded me of something.  A few years ago while researching a part of the family tree and going thru the necessary Census records, I happened to see a listing for an Insane Asylum and it's inmates. This particular one listed the person's name, age and the reason they were there. So as you can imagine there were all kinds of reasons people were in the asylum, including of course, crazy and while I cannot remember all those reasons, one stuck out and is, frankly, my personal favorite....MASTURBATION.  Yep, you read that right...sometime in the mid-1800's a male could be sent to an insane asylum for masturbating.

Took the words right out of my mouth.

I can see it now---young men arrested for murder for jacking off. LOL.

I get what she was trying to do and agree. If we're so controlled, why aren't men? Oh, that's right. Men are superior. *insert eyeroll here*
