I am still kind of annoyed and shocked over this Grammy Performance... what do you ladies think of it?
the youtube video is blurry but this one is much clearer: http://dai.ly/xWhdt5
Nicki Minaj levitates during her performance at the 2012 Grammy Awards held at Staples Center on Sunday (February 12) in Los Angeles.
The 29-year-old rapper kicked it off by confessing the lyrics to her new single, “Roman Holiday,” while sitting next to The Pope, the same man she walked with on the red carpet earlier in the evening.
The performance, called “The exorcism of [Nicki's alter ego] Roman,” was choreograhed by Laurieann Gibson and featured religious imagery, pyrotechnics, and backup dancers dressed as monks.
I love music and the arts. When I watch this it looks cheesy and the singing is not that great. There is a lot of mocking the Christian faith by many artists. If she were to mock any other religion or belief she would be called out by many groups like the ACLU. I will say she does sound possessed so she did succeed in that.
Then I admitted how glad I am that I don't get sucked into watching this garbage... or listening to this stuff... imho, that's not music or art.
As far as mocking Christianity, I agree with pp. Who hasn't mocked it? I think it's wrong, imho... people of all religions need to be respectful and tolerant of each other...
And nicki minaj SUCKS...

indeed any viewer could have taken away from that "wow it was like watching a movie". I grew up with music every where around me, I love all music. I do not however, support anything that is of a mocking of any one religion. My annoyance came from seeing sexual acts being done on the alters that kind of sealed my omg wtf is she doing. I could have appreciated the entire exorcism act i really could have but to add sexual manner to it bothered me and i am not even catholic. It is the Grammys... A family show... I am still just annoyed at it all and grateful my kids fell asleep before her performance because I sure in hell wasn't ready to explain it to them, I was still sitting there 5 mins later with my SO next to me shaking our heads and saying "wow". My SO loves her music and all I got out of him last night about it was "what a stupid B****"

I wonder what would happen if someone mocked Scientology in Hollywood? Would Tom Cruise sue Hollywood? The thing is, I am not offended by her act because I feel pity for her. And, it isn't about what she believes or if she believes in anything. This is about the double standard of what is deemed intolerant in Hollywood and all around the world. I listen to metal all of the time. I know that many of the bands I listen to are not Christian. The act of mocking what is well known to be Holy(the alter) is where it turns into something sick. I understand that this is art and there is freedom of expression. And for this reason only I think that she has the right to express herself. In turn, others have the right to not buy her music.
