Softly call the Muster tonight

Posted by   + Show Post

It's my first year posting here.

My Universitity has a tradition called Muster.

We meet with fellow Ags, wherever  we are, and share stories about our time at A&M and say here for the Ags that have passed.

This is tonight.   We are going to the Muster at A&M.  It is the most important tradition of A&M.

It may seem odd 95% of you, but it is what we are.   We remember those before us and we support those after us.  I love Texas A&M for this.

aIt doesn't seem odd, exactly... more 'I have no idea what you're talking about at all.'

I don't know what an Ag is.

I''m not trying to be rude.

It just seemed that what I explained wasn't clear to people like pb.

If isn't for 98% of this board, I can explain it.

We pray forand remember  those that have passed.  It is that simple,  Ags care and remember about those who have lived and left us.

Quoting SEEKEROFSHELLS:

Oh it was probably how you did the quote. Of coarse it was special. Thank you for letting members know of this tradition. It is indeed special. A wonderful tradition.

Quoting Tanya93:

I don't know.

But Muster is something solemn and special.

If people don't care, then screw them.   They can have fun online.

Quoting SEEKEROFSHELLS:

Was the deleter fairy in here? I am missing something with the replies.

I've never heard of it, but I'm glad that you enjoy the tradition. :-)

BTW, I just wanted to let you know you spelled "Universitity". lol

EDT: darn hit the key before I did the reply!!! I was commenting on my deleter fairy comment. Sorry I wasn't clear. I understood perfectly in your post what you were trying to convey. It is a wonderful tradition. Yes, Aggies do care by doing this.

yeah, I read that.... I just didn't understand at all what it was.

So, 'Ag' is 'a graduate'?

It can be.

Texas A&M is very proud of its graduates and loves making an effort that people know you graduated.

Muster is different.   We stand and say "here" for those Ags who have left us this year.   Yeah, I know it seems weird to many, but it truly is a movement that people who aren't Ags don't get.

I think I'm never going to get this :D

So, y'all just stand in a room and say people's names?

Depends on where you are

But yes, you meet in a room, auditorium, banquet  hall, whatever and say the names of people in your area that have died.
