Fact: Our tax dollars were used to bail out Wall Street.
In case you need a reminder: Wall Street banks and companies are private corporations, not public institutions. In a democracy, taxes are supposed to go toward funding roads, parks, health clinics, schools, social security–anything that benefits the common good. Despite the lame claims of some vociferous Tea Party morons, the government is not actually “taking” our money–we collectively maintain infrastructure and social services through consensually paying taxes. The consensus is implicit in being alive.

If we did not pay taxes, society would collapse. You cannot maintain society through anarchic private entities–that’s antithetical to democracy. So the fact that our public dollars were used to bail out banks that do not have societal interests as their primary or even secondary or even tertiary concern means that our money was stolen from us. The banks use those public dollars to fatten their coffers. Meanwhile, cuts to social services–mental health, education, social security, and on and on and on and on and on–pervade. House foreclosures abound, while Wall Street executives acquire three and four homes. It’s the very embodiment of kleptocracy: enrich the elite while bleeding the effete.

Btw- no major players in this heist has been arrested.

We have socialism when corporations lose money. Then we and our tax dollars have to bail them out. (This also happened after 1929 Market crash.)
That's the only time we have and they support socialism.

When corporations are making money, ( like during the fraudulent mortgage bubble, ) that's when their capitalist! Then they don't believe in socialism and sharing profits to help sustain the economy with the little people.
They call sharing profits...welfare. Of course unless their the ones with their hands out asking for money.  This is called Corporate Welfare.

Then since they own the media, they spin lies, misinformation and disinformation to folks to blame the countries hardships on those on PA. Etc.
Then theres folks like who believe them and are then tools who spread their propaganda.

Family income has declined and unemployment hovers between 10-15 percent, and over 46 million Americans live in poverty, the highest rate in 50 years.
Meanwhile, the 1% dwell in their marbleized compounds, piloting their luxury vehicles, and disdaining everyone else in smugly contemptuous fashion.

For we have an inherent right to food, shelter, education. These are things we are born needing. Not entitlements, but spiritual luxuries, because it logically follows that if we have a right to life, then we require these things to sustain life.

Fact Two: The majority of our taxes are used toward miscreant military misadventures, such as those in Afghanistan and Iraq. Both of these countries have been virtually decimated and are being rebuilt by corporate war profiteers.

So, our country is in “debt” because our taxes are being (consciously) misused toward private and profiteering ends. This is also known as Corporate Welfare–never mind that social welfare, the correct type of welfare, is roundly and wrongly denigrated.

We are in a fictitious debt crisis, which can be easily remedied by taking corporate interests out of public politics, re-funneling taxes towards social services, and taxing the fuck out of the rich. In countries like Denmark, there are no multi-millionaires, because the government caps salaries through taxes. No one in Denmark “earns” the kind of wealth we see flaunted with such hedonistic abandon among the American affluent.

Dear Mothers we are all in this together. Try reaching out to help those less fortunate or on PA instead of bashing and insulting them. Karmas a bitch.
This time next year all PUblic Assistance bashers can lose it all and end up on PA too.

Update: Ive noticed many bashing moms ripping PA moms new ass holes for using PA funds to go back to school to learn skills for jobs. Will you bashers pay for PA moms to continue education to get off the dole? What's that? No. ... Right I didn't think so.
So, PA moms really can't win here.

I don't think mom's are bashing those families that need the help to feed their kids, etc.  What I think they are bashing are those that abuse it, & don't plan on getting skills so they can support their own.  I'm all for PA, but for most ONLY temp.  I don't feel it's right for moms to just feel they are 'entitled' to get whatever the Gov. will hand out. I don't believe in 'paying' for a mom so she can stay home with their kids.  If she or her husband lost their jobs, that's one thing.  But, then they need to get trained so they could find work.

While I agree that a lot of moms on this site are absolutely insane, I am not a big fan of PA as it is today. I am all for helping people who really, truly need it, but it is waaay too easy for people to abuse the system.

The system is in need of a overhaul but there are those who are drawn to these posts to bash, and that is fact. I always thought my tax dollars and yours pay for things we are not entitled to and I know for a fact PA is not the greed infested waste of money people think it is. People are in no way getting fat off of the funds the government gives them, and they have stringent rules to adhere to. There are those motivated to cheat and state by state measures are supposed to be in place to prevent this, but again the workers are employed to stop this. People think it's wine and roses, it is to supplement the meager income they drawl and every extra penny is taken in account and deducted from all benefits!

Well I do believe there are those that truly need it, because of so many jobs that are lost.  It's not their fault.  But, I also believe there are alot of abuse/fraud going on.  Just my opinion.  What upsets me though is when ppl don't try.  Those that sit home & don't go back to school for a new career or trade.  Moms that don't try, (not to say all do this) to either go back to school, take online classes, do something at home to earn extra money.  Then, there are those that do get pregnant again, while on PA.  Accidents do happen I understand, but there's some that plan on another child, all while on PA.  That to me is wrong.  My niece never worked, & has 6 kids...Her husband only works here & there.  She just kept having kids.  Once, her youngest turned 6, she got pregnant again.  Those are the moms I get upset about.
