McCain Goes Nuclear: “Shame On Barack Obama”

Republicans amp up attacks on Obama for campaigning on Bin Laden's slaying. “Shamelessly turning the one decision he got right into a pathetic political act of self-congratulation,” says McCain.

Here's the Arizona Senator's full statement:

"Shame on Barack Obama for diminishing the memory of September 11th and the killing of Osama bin Laden by turning it into a cheap political attack ad. This is the same President who once criticized Hillary Clinton for invoking bin Laden 'to score political points.'

"This is the same President who said, after bin Laden was dead, that we shouldn't 'spike the ball' after the touchdown. And now Barack Obama is not only trying to score political points by invoking Osama bin Laden, he is doing a shameless end-zone dance to help himself get reelected.

"No one disputes that the President deserves credit for ordering the raid, but to politicize it in this way is the height of hypocrisy.

"The Obama campaign asks whether Mitt Romney would have made that decision. Of course they want to focus on this one tactical decision because the other decisions this President has made have harmed our national security.

"He turned his back on the people of Iran when they rose up to end their tyrannical, terrorist-supporting, Holocaust-denying government, giving them no assistance as they were crushed in the streets.

"He has repeatedly thrown our ally Israel under the bus and jeopardized our shared security interests.

"He tried to bring Khaled Sheikh Muhammed, the mastermind of 9/11, and other Al-Qaeda terrorists into the middle of New York City to stand trial in a civilian court.

"He disregarded the advice of his military commanders and pulled all of our troops out of Iraq, and Al-Qaeda is making a comeback there as a result.

"He disregarded the advice of his military commanders again by telling our enemies that we are leaving Afghanistan and then putting our mission and our troops at risk by short-changing our commanders on the ground.

"He watches passively while the Assad regime in Syria, Iran's closest ally, kills thousands of its own people in an unfair fight, and his response to this mass atrocity is to create an 'Atrocities Prevention Board.'

"With a record like that on national security, it is no wonder why President Obama is shamelessly turning the one decision he got right into a pathetic political act of self-congratulation."

Mr. Grumpy Pants needs to reflect on his own behavior. 'Bombbombbomb bomb bomb Iran' for example. And what do they expect, exactly? Should the president sit quietly by while 50million in negative adds come right at him?

Sad old man- I don't think I will ever forget that he is who inflicted Sarah Palin on the rest of us.

So so true!!

Quoting candlegal:

well, that is a given.  He has been proving that for 3+ years.

Quoting singlemom1208:

He is a hypocritic.

I just am in awe as to how low Obama can sink.  Just when I think he can't sink any lower.  Bam! there he goes.

LOL you are a diehard.

Quoting candlegal:

I guess you are right.  When it is the only thing you have, I guess you better use it.

This reminds me of the right's whiniest candidate, Newt Gingrich.  That man is continually being outraged at stuff, making mountains out of molehills, crying that everyone (except for him, apparently) is running foul of ethics.  I swear every time I hear him on the news he is screeching like an old biddy about how naughty everyone is.  It's laughable.

People who fake outrage at everything that improves the public's perception of Obama.  Lol, it's called campaigning, it would be pretty stupid ot to play it up during election season, don't you think?  I mean, is it some holy thng that can't be talked about?  Nope, it was an accomplishment that appeals to the American public, therefore Obama will be reminding us of it.  It would be stupid not to.

I always kind of like McCain for a while, and then he starts talking foreign policy and he's such a war monger (especially in the last 10 years or so.)  He has one answer to everything...bomb them.

It cracks me up....

The one thing Obama SHOULD be 'blaming' W for, is this. And O is trying to use it to get back in office!

The info used to finally get Bin laden came out of Gitmo in the last year of W's term (yall have google, check for yourselves). So, it only look what 2 and a 1/2 years after that to finally give the ok? Um, congrats?

Obama did not pull the trigger. He did not kill Bin laden. He gave the green light to do it. Don't get me wrong, I am glad he finally did. But, to try and use it as 'Oh, I am so wonderful!' Meh, just not buying it.

Agreed!

This makes me think of those people who run around yelling, 'We did it!' When their team wins the superbowl. No, THEY did it! I don't remember seeing your ass out on that field! I love football so, I think I would have noticed a new player on a team!

I am glad UBL is dead. Obama was ballsy when he gave the order to go in with about 60% of the info...I went to a lecture last week given by Bob Gates which was very interesting.

Obama is not great but Romney is worse for America, sorry-
