I'm not religious in any sense of the word, and don't feel a need to fight for subsequent generation's salvation.  You're welcome to do so for yours.

As for consequences, of course I will teach them about the very real outcome of having sex with someone.  I only have boys.  They are young now, but will be taught to not have sex with random people, but to talk about all aspects of sex with a possible partner.  I will also teach them that they are responsible in bringing their own BC to the relationship, and not to rely on anyone else for it.

Your post is made up entirely of YOUR OPINION, and that's cool.  Thanks for sharing.

I don't appreciate that you assume that just because I'm pro-choice that I won't be educating my children about sex and it's various outcomes, or that I won't be teaching them about morals and consequences just because I believe differently than you do.

I defend the right of women, including daughters, to continue to be able to choose legal medical procedures. As a mother, my heart fights for my children and grandchildren to be able to choose when they will have children.
I'm sorry it's so hard for you to understand. Try it this way. If the government can force women to stay pregnant, they can also force women to abort pregnancies. That is part of why I am pro-choice.

Quoting blessingsofmany:

I can't believe half of these posts!  If we are all mothers, knowing how it felt to us to be pregnant, being able to have a child...  I don't understand why your hearts are so harden and defend abortions.  So sad!

How about fighting for their salvation?  How about teaching them about consequences?  If you have sex before you get married, this can happen to you.  If you don't want children, or not ready for them why are you having sex in the first place.  I recently read a post of a 16 year old finding out she was pregnant.  Someone wrote back to her welcome to the world  of adult decisions.  She should have not particpated in an adult act in the first place. People should be married and have sex.  Then you wouldn't have a need for unwanted pregnancies.  In China they have population control.

I am not saying you won't teach your children.  You started out your orginal post As a mother, my heart fights for my children and grandchildren to be able to choose when they will have children. That's why I started my post with fighting for their salvation, teaching consequences.  I am glad you will teach them consequences.  As far as morals go, I believe in abstinence.  You can only give yourself once. Hmm.. just thought about this. If you (not you personally) have morals there would be no need for BC.   I will pray neither of my children will get pregnant or get anyone pregnant.  But, if they do, abortion will not be an option. Sorry for any misunderstanding.  The teaching is the only thing we have in common on this issue.

What right do you have to make that decision for every female in America, regardless of whether they are Christian or not?   What kind of person are you to tell a girl YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW that if she had morals, she wouldn't need birth control?   You don't know her situation.  What I hear from you is your "holier than thou" attitude.  Let me tell you - every time I've heard that from a parent, her kids have come back to bite her in the butt.

But abortion should be illegal because it IS murder.

 Hey OP....

This is an idiotic thread.  Murder is illegal and abortion is not.

Oh and to some previous posters, yes they do not look exactly like that but you can see parts of their bodies being formed in the early weeks that they are aborted. They are humans; they are precious little angels that people choose not to give them a chance. It breaks my heart so bad.

 Nope.

Let us just agree to disagree but I strongly disagree with you. Although it may be a single cell... the single cell is unique from the mother's body so why should we define it as part of the womens body? It is its own being.

Fighting for their salvation?  You're assuming everyone is Christian or wants to be.  Teaching a child consequences and responsibility is great, but you're assuming EVERYONE is going to teach those qualities, and that EVERY kid is going to listen.  Back in the day before there was legal abortion, there were always women who got pregnant.  Some had babies (keeping them or not), and others had abortions.  There were many girls who were talked into having sex or were raped or molested, or whatever that ended up having their uterus destroyed by coat hanger abortions done in unsanitary backrooms by people who "claimed" to be doctors - most weren't.  The rich girlswere wisked away to their doctors and had their procedures, often times had some other procedure done too, to explain why they were in the hospital.  One of the main reasons abortions were legalized was to be able to provide the girls that were going to do it anyway with a safe, regulated medical care.  Not all doctors will perform those procedures - that's up to the doctor.  Not all women will have the procedure.  Some choose not to - even at the last minute, and no one tells them that they have to do it if they change their minds - it's a choice.

The one thing that has really changed since Roe vs Wade is that people like you are making very hurtful statements without considering the consequences of your statements.  When you open your mouth and say that a woman shouldn't be having sex if they aren't married - you are hurting every single mother.  You are hurting every woman who had a baby after a rape.

Whether you like it or not, the right to life is protected under the constitution. The constitution does not apply to animals. Lol.

Quoting pansyprincess:

How hypocritical of you ... so it's the constitution that defines life for you?  I think it is ok to terminate a pregnancy, you don't.  But you are fine with killing another form of life ... as long as it's not human, because *those* life forms weren't defined as such in the freakin' constitution????  omfg.  Worst.argument.ever.

Quoting mom2klca:

The difference between human life and animal life is that humans have a right to life under the constitution. Animals do not.

Quoting p1r4t3cr0pc1rcl:

According to many a life is a life? how is that not the same? Its all in nature.

A humans life is the same a dogs life as a cat as any animal. Do they not all feel? Do they not all start off similar? If they cannot survive outside, and on its own, its not really living

As I said, people will do and believe as they will.

Every woman should be given the right to choose to carry or abort, If you dont like it, dont get one.

Quoting mom2klca:

Here you go; putting mold, viruses, cancer, and cats above human fetuses. That speaks for itself.
