Mi. Anti-Abortion Bill, "Most Extreme" In The Country, Barrels Through State House!
I am unable to link it! Sorry!

I am from Michigan, and I pay attention to news, politics, etc. but this caught me completely off guard! Not only that, but I have not seen this on the news, anywhere! I am a huge Planned Parenthood supporter. Defunding planned parenthood, and closing all clinics that provide abortions in this state, seems to be in our very near future! This includes the morning after pill! It starts here. Where are we headed in this country?
*****UPDATE*****
It passed the house committee and is going to the floor next week for a vote.... The Gov. wont make comment on his position.
The bill does NOT include an exception for the mothers life. Yeah that's perfect, kill women to save an unborn fetus that will likely die when she does, makes perfect sense to me......................
Anyone know what it takes to become a Canadian citizen???
Well, she should have thought of that before opening her legs.*sarcasm*

it says the bill should be passed (or not) thursday afternoon, that was yesterday...any updates on what the decision was?
No exception for a woman's life?
This is crazy. Yep, it won't stand.
Poor women will die! Women with dangerous pregnancies will die!
Yayyy!

This is getting closer to the Asian fetal worship that we have been hearing of. So if the fetus dies after the mother succumbs to eclampsia, do we get to paint it gold and worship it in our own little shrine? I can think of many pro lifers who deserve that as an xmas gift. Put it out next to the fruitcake and above the singing Santa Claus and it'll be the reason for the season.
(from the link)
Specifically, the omnibus bill would criminalize all abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy, without exceptions for rape victims, the health of the woman or in cases where there is a severe fetal anomaly. It would require health centers that provide abortions to have surgery rooms, even when they don't provide surgical abortions. It would require doctors to be present for medication abortions and to screen women for "coercion" before providing an abortion, and it would create new regulations for the disposal of fetal remains.
The bill would also ban "telemedicine" abortions, or the use of technology to prescribe medication for abortion services and the morning-after pill.
Although I do support defunding Planned Parenthood (I think they can stand on their own with private donations), the above is just not right.
The life and health of the mother absolutely should be taken into consideration. Although I hate the idea of a fetus being aborted because a woman chooses not to be a mother, the choice needs to be made by the woman carrying the child and not the government. The coercion stipulation is ridiculous as well. Who gets to judge whether one is coerced or not?
