3D Titanic reveals Rose DID have room for Jack on ‘that’ door

THE re-release of Titanic in 3D has seen fans slam Kate Winslet - for letting Leonardo Di Caprio die.

They believe footage in the new version 'proves' that Winslet's character Rose DID have room for Di Caprio's Jack on her makeshift raft at the end of the film - meaning he did not have to drown.

The 1997 James Cameron weepie famously centres on the pair's love affair.

After the liner has broken up they are seen trying to avoid a freezing grave by attempting to float on a wooden door together.

As the pair struggle to stay afloat Winslet's character lets Di Caprio slip off the raft - which broke the hearts of millions of teenage girls worldwide.

And now as thousands re-watch their favourite film 15-years-on - a wave of anger has been directed at Winslet through social networking sites.

One said: "I've just watched Titanic in 3D and the plank she’s lying on in the freezing water while Leonardo Dicaprio is hanging onto the side ¿ IS BLOODY WELL BIG ENOUGH FOR BOTH OF THEM!"

Another added: "What gets my goat is in 3D you can totally see how much space there is left on that floating door. The selfish cow surely could have squeezed Jack on!"

Facebook groups with thousands of bitter members have been set up slamming Kate's character.

And numerous people have posted photos of themselves posing in a number of positions having marked out what they believe to be the area of the door on the floor - in a bid to show how easy it is for two people to fit on it.

I always thought that it was not because of the space, it was their combined weight that would have sunk them. Didn't he try to get on it in the movie? And didn't it start to go under water?

One, he didn't drown. He froze to death. Two, just because there is room, doesn't mean the raft can handle it.

He did, and it started to sink, so he got back off.

Exactly, I know. So....what's the point of all this outrage?

He didn't drown, and people are really slamming a fictional character for following a script? Too much time on their hands indeed.

And why is Winslet - the actress who played the part - and not the writer getting the flak over this.  It's not like she made the decision that Jack would die, or that she personally chose to let him freeze to death, or that a real person actually died.
