OPINION: UNDERSTANDING SOME OF THE REASONS WHY! EDITED.
It's NO secret that I am emotionally invested in the death of Trayvon Martin in Sanford Florida and in it's outcome. I have posted posts on the many aspects of this case. I am being honest when I say, I believe that George Zimmerman, while not having the intent to kill someone on the way to the store,WILLFULLY disregarded the safety of the Teen and his life, HE thought was SUSPICIOUS , and followed then confronted him, because, THESE @$$HOLES ALWAYS GET AWAY,made the fatal decision to kill Trayvon and say it was self defence. I also believe that race played apart, and is still doing so. We are all well aware of the particulars of Zimmerman's heritage, and Trayvon's. Many of us in this forum, and around the world believe had Martin's race been White/Caucasian,the SAME George Zimmerman would have 1,been arrested immediately 2,probably given a high bond(unless charged with 1rst degree) 3,If he made that original bond then discovered to have lied, would in fact remained in custody regardless of the length of time before the inevitable trial.
I am making this OPINION post/ramble/rant because also well documented, is the numerous posts about the alleged negative aspects of black America(if there is such a thing). Some of These posts were said to be done under the guise of "CONCERN" for black America, which usually devolved into stereotypes, name calling, and Moms headed for the hills. Several Moms, myself included had decided to enter and or post nonsensical things for a while, take the heavy out if You KWIM.
However I am me(enough said) and I felt it necessary to show something from my experience that could, COULD mind you, shed some light on Black America and the aversion to the judicial process!
This is a old story,One that some here call the proverbial "race card" or excuses that keep black people down, or MY FAVORITE THUS FAR,take responsibility and stop blaming other races. From a Mom here!
I can only speak to what I learned through my life, having Sons, more then having my girls, and the young people I have mentored through out, almost 30 years.
For the middle generation,Mine,we have seen injustice from protecting and serving, to judicial proceedings. Countless men, women, and Teens of color arrested for crimes that are misdemeanors to felonies, from the police arrest to the adjudication of said cases, there are monumental disparities. One Mom said of a good friend of color of hers, who was sentenced much more harshly then she, for a less serious charge. I made a post about some of the factors involved in the disparities for Teens and males of color today. All aware(BLACK) generations, feel a certain disillusion when things like today's second Bond hearing for a man, that at the end of the day killed an unarmed, otherwise non violent teen,Happens! He is reaping the rewards of a upside down justice system. There is a hopelessness that each generation inherits when injustice on this scale is perceived. That Mom I referenced said it was black peoples duty to have the "talk" with there children. The Talk she refers to is that all these children should CONFORM to society's expectations.EX: If Trayvon Had of alleviated Zimmerman's ERROUNOUS assumptions about him, he'd be alive. And or anticipate what a non black person may perceive of your dress! This Thinking is what is given a KILLER 1rst,2nd,and 3rd chances. Anyone can Look at this case and make generalizations,or assumptions, and speculations, but one thing is sure, all look for the truth, and a fair trial. However, some of us see/have seen things like this before. In History, written and unwritten that boils the blood. This case is hard to remain objective and for those who can and do,1 I respect that,2, A question,(not for the uninterested)why are you objective? Because you can look at recent history to know the truth is not always known in court. Secrets are often taken to the grave, and only ONE person out of two in FL. is left to paint the story anyway he chooses. He has every motive to lie, and was caught in many of them.
It's simple, some begin to NOT CARE because historically there is NO justice for them, some like me don't trust much in the whole institution,I saw and was apart of injustice in my family, work and friends. And some young men become dangerous because they don't care,or feel that the system doesn't cares and they know they well end up in jail or dead, and their only goal is to take as many as they can with them. The Last part was said to me verbatim!
I'd Love to see the other mothers weigh in here, whether you agree or disagree!
The only way Evil can triumph is for good women to do nothing!
