I hope all my Muslimah friends are breaking the fast right now with a delicious meal and lots of water.

I have been thinking a lot about people suffering from lack of water and food.  I will not get into it in depth, but for all the good hearted moms, Muslim or not, it is a good time to consider the suffering of others in the world and make a donation to someone needy.

How did your husband do? I hope it wasn't too hot there.

Ramadan always reminds me of how horrible going hungry must be. At the end of the day I get to gorge on whatever I want and my hunger is gone. For many, their hunger continues.

hah, not too bad, it was like 90.  He is still at work but I'm guessing he is still eating or at the mosque...either way he hasn't picked up his phone since the fast was over at 8:50 or so.  :)

This post wasn't meant to be preachy but I recently heard a very heart rending story about children starving in the Congo and I feel very blessed and happy that my kids and family have what they need to be healthy.  I am donating the money I have been saving for a new Coach bag to a hospital that does emergency care for starving children.  Honestly I don't even want that expensive bag anymore after hearing the straightforward way the doctors talk about the death and suffering they see, and how they are forced to turn away dying babies for lack of funds.

Just thought I'd spread the word that even if it's not Christmas people are still in need and could use the help.

Oh this absolutely makes me want to bawl! We throw so much food away everyday here in America that I just can't fathom how there are still starving people and not just abroad.

Exactly.  Here I am carrying extra weight, could definitely stand to eat less.  And they were talking about 1 year old babies that weigh EIGHT POUNDS.  Every day they suffer, hungry and not enough water.  Just a life of misery, for a tiny baby. Moms watching their baby wither away from starvation.  It really tore me up, I cried at work today thinking about it.  The world is a very hard place.  :(

Anyways sorry to be a bummer.  I really wanted to stay positive and encourage people to count their blessings and maybe find a little extra to give.  ( I realize many people give already.)

It's easy to forget and take our blessings for granted. I think this is a nice post and a good reminder for all of us to give what we can.

Ramadan Mubarak to you and your family as well.

This time of year always makes me think more of the people who do not have enough to eat or clean water to drink.

Islamic Relief Society is a great charity, also.
