It's there, perhaps you have to just type in the link.  I know the first time I did it, it worked.  Then, the very next time, it said something about was not working.

Yup. People seem to think this country has money to spare, but we keep getting farther and farther into debt without paying it off. Soon it will all come home to roost and we'll really be in trouble.

The link 'dailykos' (the 1st one) is working, if you are interested in reading it.  Also, the 2nd one, 'cnbc' one works as well.

I just don't understand WHY people don't see this.  It's pretty scary to me.  When I heard about what is happening in Greece, the horrible crime rate, parents having to abandoned their kids.  I just thought it couldn't be true.  Then, I thought of this Country.  IF things don't change, we are on our way to being a Greece.  IMO I feel in some ways, we already are.  People just keep saying "oh it can't happen to the USA"  "We are afterall, the greatest Country in the World".....yeah, right!!

Austerity isn't an Obama problem. It's an occurence when the rich are left with no regulation and suck the money out of the economy leaving the poor to be dependant on the country then cutting the benefits provided to the poor. It's becoming an American reality, but it's not an Obama thing.

How do we as a country send jobs to China then borrow from them to keep our economy afloat and then get upset? The deregulation has brought us to this brink not simply the extension of public welfare.

I don't think you understand Obama's platform.  Austerity is not something Dems are generally known for, as evidenced by republicans being the ones trying to implement "austerity."

Here's a wiki definition of austerity, as good as any.

In economics, austerity refers to a policy of deficit-cutting by lowering spending often via a reduction in the amount of benefits and public services provided.[1] Austerity policies are often used by governments to try to reduce their deficit spending[2] and are sometimes coupled with increases in taxes to demonstrate long-term fiscal solvency to creditors.[3]

Supporters of austerity predict that under expansionary fiscal contraction (EFC), a major reduction in government spending can change future expectations about taxes and government spending, encouraging private consumption and resulting in overall economic expansion.[4]

Critics argue that, in periods of recession and high unemployment, austerity policies are counter-productive, because: a) reduced government spending can increase unemployment, which increases safety net spending while reducing tax revenue; b) reduced government spending reduces GDP, which means the debt to GDP ratio examined by creditors and rating agencies does not improve; and c) short-term government spending financed by deficits supports economic growth when consumers and businesses are unwilling or unable to do so.[5]

"Austerity" was named the word of the year by Merriam-Webster in 2010.[6] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Austerity
